* Dad's Hat *

Dad's hat is hanging on a nail in the hall
The hat is all faded and worn.

He goes out every day to work in the field,
Because he wants to be sure there is food for every meal.

The good Lord gave us a good dad, and we are really blest,
We cook him a good dinner every night, so he can rest.

He taught us to respect older people,
And not to take anything that was not ours.

To have compassion for others, understanding and love.
To show kindness and genuine concern.

We know he worked hard because of the sweat in his shirt
Sometime he would buy us some a pair of shoes,
Other times he would buy us a skirt.

Someday we will buy him a new hat
To replace the worn hat in the hall.
For he is a real good dad to us all.
